  • Celebrity Shawl

    Celebrity Shawl Celebrity Shawl-back

Inspired by a shawl worn by Jessica Simpson a long time ago. (Approx: 2004) I finally got around to crocheting it and it’s a good one.

I used a size K hook and worsted weight. It would be stunning in a lighter weight yarn.

Today would have been my 32nd wedding anniversary.

  • Be A Friend/Have a Heart Shawl

    Be a Friend Shawl 2 - back Be a Frined Shawl 2

This pattern has two names and can be found for free on RedHeart.com.  I slightly modified the pattern by just making the first complete tier and crocheted until the yarn was finished.

  • Anna's Shawl 2 - Jonquil

    Anna's Shawl 2 - front Anna's Shawl 2

This pattern works nicer with a larger crochet hook than specified.  It’ll be fun to try this pattern in different color combinations.  I will be using this pattern again.

  • Sidewalk Shawl - Jade (unblocked)

Sidewalk Shawl - Jade -front Sidewalk Shawl - Jade - back Sidewalk Shawl - Jade

An unblocked Sidewalk Shawl.  Yes, I know the photos are dark and unfocused and the project is not blocked.  There is a purpose to my style of blog posting and that includes miserable photos.

    1) I'm a terrible photographer.

    2) Less chance of anyone using-borrowing-stealing my photos.

    3) Crappy pics of my projects don't bother me because they are mainly for my documentation anyway.  This blog is just a placeholder of sorts.

Love this pattern.  It’s very similar to other patterns that I’ve finished so I will be sure to use the pattern often.  In fact, I’m making another right now. Fun, Fast, Easy.

  • Evil Minion Beanie 3

    Evil Minion Beanie 3

A special request from my son for his friend. This is the tenth and hopefully, the last minion beanie that I need to make for awhile.

I’m on to my next crocheted shawl project.

    Scarves - mom

My mother discovered how easy and fun it was to knit ruffle scarves. She’s been churning them out at an astronomical rate.  My daughter and I were given these two scarves at Christmas.  I’m not quite sure that they are my style but I know how it is to knit/crochet something for someone and not have it appreciated.

These are two separate scarves. I just photographed them together on the mannequin.

I will attempt to find the right outfit and occasion to wear one. The giver must be present to view the item in use.  There will be photographic evidence.

Mazda Trashbag Mazda Trashbag outer Mazda Trashbag inner

My son’s new car needed a custom sewn trash bag.  We looked at whatever was available at the local auto stores, etc and couldn’t find one that fit his specifications.  So I sewed one for him.  The outer layer is from upholstery fabric samples and the inner lining is cut from a UCLA tablecloth.  I added a parachute clip and strap from the US Airforce and velcro for the closure.

I kind of wanted to insert a spring closure instead but opted for the velcro because I just didn’t want to invest that much time and money into a car trash bag. :)
