  • It's Cheese Popcorn!

I love snacks. Cheese Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks. So far, I've only been able to find cheese popcorn at Target.

By coincidence there were several odd skeins of orange yarn in the donated stash that was given to me.  I promptly began crocheting a cheese popcorn colored prayer shawl.

The colors are also appropriate for the Fall season and the beginning of October.

There isn't a set sequence of colors however, the stitch pattern is repeated.  It's a basic pattern...chain an even number of stitches. One row of single crochet stitches, one row of double crochet, chain one (dc, ch1) across the row and one row of single crochet.  (Repeat until desired length.) I usually start out with a chain that is the length of my arm so that the shawl will be wide enough.  Then I crochet the rows until I practically ran out of yarn.

No fringe added and it's being held together with a shawl pin.

Next I'm debating on whether or not to use the knitting machine for the odd novelty yarns.  I find the nubby yarns difficult to crochet and my handknitting is slow.  There is a shawl workshop next weekend and I'd like to have a few prayer shawls to donate.
