Downsizing.

It's very difficult letting go of stuff...and I have to remember that it's just stuff. Saying good-bye to our 1994 Chevrolet Suburban. We bought this brand new with cash. For the past 18 years it has been on all of our family road trips. This suv has been through the potty training years, ski and beach vacations, it's been the "limousine" for a few school dances (it seats nine!), it's moved the kids to & from college dorms/apartments, and we also were able to fit our bicycles inside. It has a 42 gallon gas tank, it could easily travel 600 miles on one tank...fabulous for traveling on those seemingly endless roads where there are no filling stations within miles!

This awkward looking blanket was made with leftover yarns held doubled and stockinette stitch. The color changes are separated by purled rows with a row of single crochets surrounding the borders to hide all of the yarn ends. The afghan was kept in the Suburban and was so useful in many ways over the years.

Eighteen years...so much has changed...it has a cassette tape player!
I "loved" this suv. Best car/truck ever! Chevrolet Suburbans rock!
